Continental Bulldog

Breed History:

The Continental Bulldog is a modern bulldog breed developed in Switzerland during the early 2000s. The breed was created by Swiss breeder Imelda Angehrn, who sought to develop a healthier and more athletic bulldog while retaining the friendly temperament and distinctive appearance of traditional bulldog breeds.

Using carefully selected lines of the English Bulldog and other compatible bulldog stock, the Continental Bulldog was bred to reduce many of the respiratory and structural issues commonly associated with extreme brachycephalic dogs.

The result is a robust, agile, and family-oriented companion that combines bulldog character with improved health and mobility. The breed has gained increasing recognition throughout Europe.
